At Chinese New Year, the streets of Chinatown bustle and restaurants overflow. Witness the excitement of lion dances, beating drums, a karaoke singing competition and fire crackers. On Sunday at noon, join the waking of the dragon Dai Loong, and then follow the dragon parade, beginning at the Chinese Museum. The Festival kicks off at 2pm on Saturday until midnight, and continues on Sunday from 10am - 6pm. This event is part of the City of Melbourne’s Dragon Trails celebration of Chinese culture in Melbourne.
